Simon Petrie is a speculative fiction writer based in Canberra, Australia. He is predominantly recognised as a writer in the science fiction and fantasy genres. [1]

In 2010, he won the Sir Julius Vogel Award (New Zealand SF Award) for Best New Talent.[2]

In 2010 his first collection of short stories was published, Rare Unsigned Copy: tales of Rocketry, Ineptitude, and Giant Mutant Vegetables by Peggy Bright Books.

Petrie's stories have appeared in a number of Australian publications including Borderlands, Aurealis and Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine.[3] He is also a member of the Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine collective, editing issues 35 and 40.
