The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at committee meetings, and forwarding those minutes either to the convenor or to the CSC. (Generally the convenor acts as a focal point and conduit, but this is not mandatory.)

The secretary is typically also a signatory to the convention bank account, which means they may occasionally be called upon to supply the second signature on a cheque or to approve an ougoing bank transfer or direct deposit.
