The Swancon 2017 committee held several community events in the lead up to the convention.
- Fundraising screenings for the films Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War - TITAN Screening 2D (Started Using TicketBooth), X-Men: Apocalypse - TITAN Screening 2D, Warcraft: The Beginning - TITAN Screening 2D, Independence Day: Resurgence - TITAN Screening 2D, The BFG - Standard Screening 2D, Ghostbuster TITAN 2D, Star Trek: Beyond - TITAN 2D, Suicide Squad - TITAN 2D.
- Open programming meetings on April 30th at Dome in the city.
