Minimum Positions

Regulation 4.10 of the WASFF Constitution outlines the required committee positions on a Swancon bid.

These are:

  • Convenor - Chairs meetings, leads the convention committee.
  • Treasurer - Handles the financials, budgeting, expenditure, financial reporting, etc.
  • Secretary - Takes minutes, manages correspondence.
  • Marketing Coordinator- Coordinates marketing activities.

The people filling these positions must be Ordinary and Associate members of WASFF (ie have purchased a Swancon Membership).

It is common, but not essential, for one of these Executive positions to also act as Vice Convenor.

Occasionally there may be co-convenors rather than a single convenor.

Core Positions

Additional Core Positions, defined in By-Law 23 are:

The people filling these positions must be Ordinary and Associate members of WASFF (ie have purchased a Swancon Membership).

Sometimes an Executive may also take on one of these roles, however that may be inadvisable due to the work load.

Additional Positions / Roles

It is common for Convention Committees to create additional positions or assign roles, including, but not limited to:

Often one or more people will have multiple of the above roles.
